PetsMart's 2008 Santa Claws
Hi, Ferret Lovers everywhere!
I want to let everyone know the dates that Triangle Ferret Lovers
will be participating in PetsMart's 2008 Santa Claws events in
December.
We are signed up for three consecutive weekends, with both Saturday
and Sunday of each week at the same location. Santa Claws usually
takes place from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, but we set up early and will
stay later if there are still photos to be taken.
December 6 & 7: PetsMart at Timber Drive in Garner (Hwy. 70)
December 13 & 14: PetsMart at White Oak Shopping Center in Garner
(Hwys. 40 & 70)
December 20 & 21: PetsMart at Millbrook Road & Capital Blvd. in
Raleigh
All of the stores are exciting about our participating again this
year because their customers ask, "When are the ferret people going
to be here?"
Triangle Ferret Lovers members are becoming famous for Ken Nyren's
fantastic digital photos, our elf costumes, and our crazy antics - as
well as our careful posing of the pets and their owners, and our hard
work to ensure that each family receives a memorable souvenir of the
event!
Please mark your calendars for any and all of the dates on which you
can participate, and please let me know the ones you choose.
You do not have to be an experienced Santa or Elf to participate! You
just have to be willing to work with the pets and their owners and to
have a good time!
I do have one extra Elf tunic and several pet costumes. I will bring a
comfortable Aeron chair for Santa to sit in, and we decorate the area
to show off the pets in the photos.
Let's work together to make the 2008 PetsMart Santa Claws the BEST
one ever!

Yard Sale to Benefit Ferret Guardian Rescue Haven
We will be holding a yard sale Saturday, September 27th, 2008 from 8am to 2pm to benefit Ferret Guardian Rescue Haven.
This event will take place at 2701 Layden St, Raleigh, NC. 27603. If you would like to
donate items to sale, please contact Laura Bogren (Pres.).
Feel free to stop by to 'shop' around!

BAKE SALE AT BOWMAN ANIMAL HOSPITAL
We would like to thank the staff at Bowman Animal Hospital for their support in our bake sale! Not only did a few staff members bake and donate items to sale this
past Sunday, but the hospital Administrator has agreed to allow us to set up a permanent baked goods stand with a donation box in their breakroom! This past
week we have raised $40 from the donation box at Bowman Animal Hospital plus $19 from the bake sale we hosted at Petsmart last Sunday. All proceeds will go directly to Ferret Guardian
Rescue Haven.

Education Day
Our last education day was Sunday, July 20th at the
Petsmart on Timber Dr. in Garner fom 1-3PM. We made this
an education day/bake sale fundraiser for FGRH. We had
the bake sale outside but the education day was held indoors.

Education Day at Cary Library
Saturday, June 17th, 2:00 - 4:00 PM

The Cary Library is located at 310 South Academy, which is near the T intersection of Academy and Kildare Farm Road. If you are driving from Hwy. 40, take the Harrison Road exit, pass Maynard Road (where Northwoods is located), go to Kildare Farm Road, turn left, go to Academy, turn left, and the Library will be on the left at 310.
When you get there, please ask for Rita or Karen, who are the Children's Library Coordinators. They will direct you to the "amphitheater" where we will tell the kids all about ferrets.
PetsMart Adoption Weekend

President Lisa Clifton and Vice-President Cindy Barnes would like to invite you and your gentle ferrets to take part in the PetsMart Adoption Weekend! This is PetsMart's annual three-day adoptathon weekend!
TriFL will be showing off our ferrets only on Saturday, May 6th from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
TriFL's participation in the Adoption Weekend will take place at the PetsMart on Capital Boulevard at Millbrook Road. This PetsMart is approx. 3 - 4 miles North of the Beltline and is opposite the shopping center known as Mini City. The shopping Center with PetsMart is on the left side of Capital as you drive North and the Center has a Target and a Service Merchandise also.
Wake Forest Library Birthday Celebration
TriFL has been invited to help celebrate the birthday of the Wake Forest Library on November 19th from 12:00 - 2:00 PM.
There will be 50 - 80 children in attendance and our contact, Leslie, said everyone last year loved our "ferret obstacle course!" (She means the Ferret Education Day Display Box!) I told her we have added some new obstacles this year - the enclosed rice box and the enclosed peanuts box!
Leslie did ask if we could provide some type of "craft project" for the children to make during our visit. So, if anyone has any ideas, please DO share them!

Since there will be such a large group, we need as many volunteers and gentle ferrets as we can gather. Remember, you don't have to be a "ferret expert." You just have to love ferrets and be willing to help out! Thanks very much!
NC Folks Arts Festival
NC Folk Arts Festival will take place in St. Pauls, NC on Saturday, May 14th from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM. TriFL will have its Ferret Display Box on site to show off some of the Triangle's FABULOUS FurKids!
We can sell our merchandise, educate the public, recruit new members, and enjoy being outdoors with our friends and ferrets. (And, you can get a little holiday shopping done early!)
IF YOU ARE AVAILABLE ON MAY 14TH AND WOULD LIKE TO PARTICIPATE, PLEASE LET ME KNOW! I will drive my van to St. Pauls, so will have room for a few folks and ferrets to VanPool!
