Ferrets for Adoption in the Carolinas

Disclaimer
These listings are offered as a courtesy for those who foster ferrets or who need to find their ferrets new homes. TriFL itself is not a rescue organization, although we do help support Ferret Guardian Rescue Haven. TriFL makes no claims about these ferrets, and all screening and adoptions are between the current owner and the potential adopter.

PLEASE let me know when your notice can be removed!

  • Nikki, Zeppo, Roscoe, and Pudge (North Raleigh, NC)

Nikki - 3 year old Female sable, very calm, a bit independent, but snuggly when held and likes to climb.

Zeppo - 3 year old Male, mostly white, not albino. A bit of a goober, very much like a dog, likes to follow people around when out.

Roscoe - 2 year old red Male. Very active, love to play, a bit of a nipper, but 95% in play at this point. Loves to climb.

Pudge - 2 year old Male sable. Has a bit of milkiness to one eye from an eye infection when I first got him.

All 4 are from a breeder, spent a lot of time socializing them when they were young. They are all very good with new people and other animals. Very inquisitive and love attention. My life has become very crazy the last year or so and I do not have time to give them the love and attention they deserve. Would really love to find them a home with someone who can play with them a lot. I have a large cage, tunnels, and a playpen that I will be happy to send with them as well as however much food I have on hand for them at the time. All of them received rabies vaccines recently, I believe are still current on distemper, not sure what their adrenal status is. Am also willing to try a 6 month trial adoption with the right owner and would be willing to take them back if it does not work out. I think my ideal situation would be some sort of "open adoption" where it would be ok to visit them occasionally and I wouldn't mind helping out with their expenses.

  • Yoda (Wake Forest, NC)

Yoda is a one and 1/2? year old ferrett who has been left by his owner in a vacant rental. I have taken him in to help but do not wish to keep him. I don't know vaccine status but the pet shop said he is a marshal ferret that is nuetered. He is alone but from what I can tell a very sweet guy.He does cuddle with my daughter and sleeps in her arms, he is really a sweet animal and I wish him the best He does not bite or nip, plays well with the cat and dog. I can't seem to get him to eat any treats but eats his food well. The owner left him in his cage, it is three stories with a slide and hammock. Please feel free to take it with him. I have a huge bag of food and all supplies.

  • Gizmo, Gargomel, and Falcor (North Raleigh, NC)

I would love to add a listing for my three boys who deserve a better quality of life. Gizmo is a 2.5-year-old sable male, very gentle and loving, not up to date on vaccines. Gargomel is a 2-year-old black sable male, destructive with most household items and not good for children, up to date on rabies only (received 3/08). Falcor is an albino male, age unknown, not up to date on vaccines, very hyper and difficult to hold still for nail trims but a sweet, sweet guy. Falcor has lost hair on his tail before, but currently it has grown back. I do not know his adrenal status. I can get rabies vaccines for Falcor and Gizmo if this helps. I will only give this loving trio to one home; I do not want them separated.

    • Pet Finder is an incredible website sponsored by the ASPCA. Shelters around the country list adoptable animals of all sorts, not just ferrets, here. Check it out!

    • Do not forget to check your local newspaper classifieds. Often people giving up their ferrets will place newspaper ads. These ferrets haven't been screened by a shelter, but they still need a home. Be sure to examine the ferret, question the owner, and obtain veterinary information so that you know for certain the needs of the ferret when you adopt.
