Disclaimer
These listings are offered as a courtesy for those who foster ferrets or who need to find their ferrets new homes. TriFL itself is not a rescue organization, although we do help support Ferret Guardian Rescue Haven. TriFL makes no claims about these ferrets, and all screening and adoptions are between the current owner and the potential adopter.

Getting Listed or Unlisted
If you would like to have a ferret added to this page, please e-mail the webmaster at webmaster@trifl.org with needhomes listing in the subject line. Please include the ferret's name, age, vaccination status, any known medical problems, color, any notable quirks (such as if the ferret doesn't get along with other ferrets), and your contact information as you want it listed here. PLEASE let me know when your notice can be removed!

  • George and Gracie (Creedmor, NC)
Hi, we were wondering if you could help us find a home for george and gracie our male and female ferrets. They are in great health, they do need follow up shots and are about 4 months old. We are just not the right family for them, we love them but are never home and it is not fair to them. They need more attention than we can give them. Also they must go together, they are quite attached.
Contact: Keith at keith_anderson48473@yahoo.com or call 919-529-4053. [6 May 2008]

  • Gizmo, Gargomel, and Falcor (North Raleigh, NC)
I would love to add a listing for my three boys who deserve a better quality of life. Gizmo is a 2.5-year-old sable male, very gentle and loving, not up to date on vaccines. Gargomel is a 2-year-old black sable male, destructive with most household items and not good for children, up to date on rabies only (received 3/08). Falcor is an albino male, age unknown, not up to date on vaccines, very hyper and difficult to hold still for nail trims but a sweet, sweet guy. Falcor has lost hair on his tail before, but currently it has grown back. I do not know his adrenal status. I can get rabies vaccines for Falcor and Gizmo if this helps. I will only give this loving trio to one home; I do not want them separated.

  • Rudy, Tudy, and Scooter (special needs) (Raleigh, NC)
I have three ferrets: Rudy 6yrs old, with adrenal disease; Tudy 6yrs old; and Scooter 3yrs old. They must stay together and are great with everyone including other ferrets. Thank you for your help, and if you need anyother info, let me know.
    Contact: Lance at clancewilson@yahoo.com. [20 January 2008]

  • Tuesday (Raleigh, NC)
Tuesday is a spunky girl! She came to us in January and was quickly adopted out, then unfortunetly returned because of nipping issues. Tuesday is not a biter, but she does nip in play. Her nipping has gotten 110% better since she came back to us but she should not go to a home with small children. Tuesday is a bright, funny, 1 year old girl who is just looking for a home to love her and feed her grapes!

  • Ollie (Columbia, SC)
Ollie is an approximately one year old male ferret who has been neutered and descented. I recently became a single parent and can't keep up with all that he needs to be a happy ferret. He is very good with my children and is a joy to play with. He nees a loving home with plenty of love. We are in the Columbia area of SC.

  • Wicky, Fatso, and Stanley (Raleigh, NC)
Wicky, Fatso & Stanley. What a TRIO! These 2 year old boys were surrendered by their owner because they were having a baby. Also, they were living outside and are very lucky to be alive! Wicky, an albino, is the most rambuncous of the group! He does the greatest weasel war dance! Fatso and Stanley could be chocolate twins although Stanley has a white bib. These three boys love to play & wrestle. They are also very cuddly and kissy. Although Wicky has a small "hey! play with me!" ankle nipping thing, the boys are fun and full of life. They have been together since they were bought from the pet store as kits and cannot be broken up. If you're looking for the 3 stooges of ferrets - here they are!!
NOTE: This group will be available for adoption Nov 1, 2007. Stanley is recovering from having his spleen removed.

  • Other places to check:

    • Orange County Animal Shelter
The Orange County Animal Shelter occasionally has ferrets and other small animals needing homes. They are located in Chapel Hill, NC. Please contact the Animal Shelter if you want to adopt; ferrets can arrive at any time!
Contact: The Orange County Animal Shelter can be reached at 919-967-7383. You can also check out their Petfinder site for a list of available animals.

    • FGRH ferrets
There are always ferrets needing homes at Ferret Guardian Rescue Haven. Please see the available list.
Contact: Please fill out a Ferret Guardian Rescue Haven Adoption Form completely. FGRH is in Statesville and can often arrange transport to approved adopting homes. (14 March 2003)

    • Eastern NC Ferrets Need Homes
Dook-n-Dance is a ferret shelter way out east, near Jacksonville. Contact Linda about adopting a Dook-n-Dance ferret. Contact information is on their website. (14 March 2003)

    • Ferrets Located in Western NC
There is a new ferret rescue located in Asheville called Stolen Hearts Ferret Rescue. Inquire with them about adoptable ferrets. (31 October 2003)

    • Hookup with Ferrets in Raleigh, NC
There is a ferret referral/placement service located in the Raleigh area. Please visit http://www.fuzzyconnection.com to get information about privately owned fuzzies.

    • Everything Ferret has a section called Ferret Classifieds that lists ferrets needing homes and also prospective adopters.

    • Pet Finder is an incredible website sponsored by the ASPCA. Shelters around the country list adoptable animals of all sorts, not just ferrets, here. Check it out!

    • Do not forget to check your local newspaper classifieds. Often people giving up their ferrets will place newspaper ads. These ferrets haven't been screened by a shelter, but they still need a home. Be sure to examine the ferret, question the owner, and obtain veterinary information so that you know for certain the needs of the ferret when you adopt.
