awareness, and increase the enjoyment of ferret ownership by providing
information and activities.

The next Triangle Ferret Lovers club social will be Saturday, April
18th at Jim & Leslie Dunn's home in Knightdale from 4:30pm-6:30pm.
You are welcome to bring your non-aggressive, up-to-date vaccinated
ferret(s) with carrier/litterbox/water/leash.
Please subscribe to the TriFL Listserv for directions.
Directions are also available in the TriFL Member's printed and mailed
version of this Newsletter.
- OFFICERS' REPORTS: Vice President--Elections for new officers
for 1998 were held by ballot. Please congratulate the
following!
- President-Jim Dunn;
- Vice President-Nicole Kincaid;
- Secretary-Cindy Anderson;
- Treasurer-Eric Sessoms;
- General Counsel-
Jeffrey Marsocci.
- Education Chair: position is still open and
officers will let members know of any other needs for chairs.
- EyeGive: $66 raised so far. We will receive a $10 check and then
another one within the next three months. Please check out their
web site at http://www.eyegive.com/.
- Library: $75 out of the
$100
voted upon has been spent thus far on books. Club is awaiting
their arrival. Jeff Johnston has donated a medical packet which he
prepared for members to borrow from the library.
- ACTIVITIES:
Renaissance Faire is March 28 & 29. Volunteers still needed.
Contact Nicole Kincaid (266-7408) to sign up for a four hour time
slot. We will need to do an event involving ferrets (could be
games such as tube race). Help needed to construct better display
boards (ferret family tree).
- Adoption Day: to take place in
Raleigh soon. NO ferrets will be adopted out that day, but
potential parents can choose one and Shelter Mom Diane Campbell
will interview them before they are permitted to adopt.
- Exotic Pet
Expo: Leslie received a letter inviting the club to participate in
an exotic animal expo at the end of March, May, Labor Day and
Christmas.
- Shari Gunter to distribute to breeders our business
card and copies of "Ferrets at a Glance" at the March expo. Club
is contemplating participation in the May expo.
- BLOOD DONOR
PROGRAM: Blood donor info and Rolodex cards have been distributed
to 105 vets, animal control and SPCA offices in the Triangle area.
Also 15 vets in Statesville have received this info. Contact
Sergio Juri if you wish to participate in this program (233-8665).
- MISC: Matt Herr contacted all animal control and SPCA offices in
three counties. No ferrets up for adoption at this time. Upcoming
Meetings: (all meetings are from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.) April 18--Club
social at The Dunn's to welcome new officers. May 9--Possibly Dr.
Charles Ward of The Animal Hospital in Carrboro to speak about
Insulinoma. June 13--Dr. Dan Johnson of Avian & Exotic Animal Care
in Raleigh to speak on flea control and heartworm. July--No
meeting.
