Our goal is to promote the welfare of the domestic ferret through
public
awareness, and increase the enjoyment of ferret ownership by providing
information and activities.

The next Triangle Ferret Lovers club meeting will be Saturday, June
6th at Luther Green Center in Morrisville from 4:30pm-6:30pm: take
I-40, exit Airport Blvd, turn right onto Chapel Hill Rd, drive
approximately 1 mile and turn left onto Barbie Road. The Center is
on the left - a small white building. You are welcome to bring
your non-aggressive, up-to-date vaccinated ferret(s) with
carrier/litterbox/water/leash.
GUEST SPEAKER: Dr. Dan Johnson on flea control and heartworm
prevention.
- OFFICERS' REPORTS:
- President--See Amendment IV. Vice
President--Activities Chairperson needed. This person will plan
activities that we will participate in and work with Sub-Chair
(appointed by Activities Chair). The Sub-Chair will coordinate
volunteers for a particular event. Ferret Fest postponed until
1999. We also need a Membership Chair. This person works to find
creative ways of drawing new and keeping members.
- Treasurer--We
have $938.00 in the bank. No new members.
- CHAIR REPORTS:
- Fundraising--Donations are now being taken for the
annual yard sale on August 29 & 30 from 7am-4 pm. Items that we
need are: appliances and electronic equipment (even if they don't
work), children's clothing, misc household items such as lamps,
small furniture, etc. Call Shari Gunter
@ 231-3222 to arrange for pick-up of items. We also need
volunteers with trucks to bring these items to the Fairgrounds on
August 29.

confirmation. Please plan ahead
and pick 2 events were you can volunteer 4 hours at each:
Education Day -- June 6 & 7 -- 9am to 5pm
Adoption Day -- Mid/End June -- 10am to 6pm
Education Day -- July 11 -- 10am to 6pm
Yard Sale -- August 29 & 30 -- 7am to 4pm
CenterFest -- Sept 19 & 20 -- 10am to 6pm
Bake Sale -- October 24 -- 10am to 6pm
Adoption Day -- November 14 -- 10am to 6pm
Education Day/Bake Sale to be planned for December 12.
- Library--A new book titled The Natural History of Weasels and Stoats
is now available. It
does not contain ferret information, but history and information
about the weasel family, of which ferrets are members.
- Miscellaneous--We need a monthly rotating schedule of volunteers to
pick up (4:15pm) and drop off (6:45pm) the key from the Morrisville
Parks & Recreation office at 1301 Morrisville Parkway (off Chapel
Hill Road) for the use of the Luther Green Center. Contact Jim Dunn
at jim_dunn@pairgain.com if you can
help for the months of August through
December.
Donations are now being accepted for our annual yard sale on August
29 & 30. Toys, electronics, tabletop appliances, tools, and pet
supplies needed. No clothing will be accepted. Please contact
Shari for pickup/delivery of donations (or if you have a truck we
can use on the morning of August 29) @ 919/231-3222.
