reminded members nominations for Officers will be taken in
February, with elections in March. Description of Offices will
appear in the January newsletter.

FREE! Please check it, set it up as your Home Page if possible, and
state your referral as Dave & Pam Taynor.
- There will be no January
meeting. February 7th meeting location has not been determined.
- TriFL is charged $25 to rent the Luther Green Center. Therefore, if
you can help locate another meeting place accommodating 25-35
ferret lovers for free or low cost, call Dave @ 785-0687 before 6pm
or Earl @ 403-1649 after 6pm. (Suggestions: church hall, Shriner's
or Elk's club, community center, conference room, home basement.)
- TREASURER-Pam Taynor gave permission for the club to purchase T-
Shirts and Stained Glass Designs to sell.
- FUNDRAISING CHAIR-Leslie
Dunn is acquiring the T-Shirts, and Shari Gunter the Stained Glass.
If you have any ideas on fundraising, contact them.
- WEB SITE
CHAIR-Pam Sessoms can set up a
general "Bartering System" on our
web page with Dana Burton as the coordinator. Offers for
trade can be made for pet sitting, errands, cooking, massage
therapy, cleaning or any other need and someone will reciprocate
the favor.
- ROGUES' GALLERY-Karen Marsh-Lovvorn
(644-0520) has 5 adoptable ferrets with another 12 being fostered
until homes can be acquired. 1998 Ferret Calendars have arrived -
$13.95 each. Diane Campbell (704-872-9538) is now operating Rogues'
Gallery West Ferret Shelter & Rescue in Statesville, NC.
- In October, Karen and Stacy Patchel volunteered to educate the public on
ferret care and European hunting of rabbits with ferrets for a show called
"Renaissance Times" (broadcast date unknown as of yet).
- MEDICAL ADVISOR CHAIR-Jeff Johnston has read that Center for
Disease Control (CDC) will change their rabies recommendations for
ferret bite incidents to a quarantine and watch period. This will
not become law until passed by legislators. Individual ferret
owners need to spread the word around the state to county animal
officials (possibly via veterinarian network).
