October 3rd Meeting Notes

The Triangle Ferret Lover's first Halloween Bash, was a great success, and a lot of fun. We had many members turn up in costume as well as their four legged and two legged children too! Among the ferrets in costume were the King and Queen of Hearts dressed as their playing card counterparts, a cute bunny rabbit complete with long ears, and a beach ferret with an umbrella hat.

There was a quick discussion of future events including: The upcoming bake sale on October 24th, the next adoption day at PetsMart on November 14th, and a vote that the Christmas Party be a non ferret event, possibly at Gillian^Òs in downtown Raleigh. Also covered was the confirmation that the Rabies Compendium will be supported in North Carolina, mandating that ferrets involved in biting incidents be given a ten day quarantine. This is a great step forward for North Carolina ferrets and their owners, many thanks go out to Tequita Williamson for her help in spearheading this important effort.

Following the short meeting, antics ensued with: ferret games, voting on the cutest photo contest, a ferret costume contest, and plenty of ferret frolic. If you've tried to get one fuzzie to cooperate, try organizing a whole room of them! Kudos to Shari Gunter and Nicole Kincade for controlling the chaos during the party, and to Matt Herr who was the party chairman for doing such a great job!
